Music Ministry
First Presbyterian Church offers the opportunity for people of all
ages to enjoy learning quality music and sharing this music during
Sunday morning worship services and Wednesday night programs.
The choir program begins at age three. If you would like to
participate in one of these musical opportunities or have any
questions, please call Sylvia Trimmier at 534-0088. Here is our

- Children's Choirs. Three children’s choirs teach basic musical principles and train children to become active participants in worship.
- Handbells. Handbell choirs are offered for both youth and adults. We have one adult handbell choir, called “Chancel Chimes,” and two youth handbell choirs. In addition to playing for church services and programs, the “Chancel Chimes” have performed for numerous community events.
- Adult Choir. Our adult choir, called the “Chancel Choir,” sings for Sunday morning worship but also periodically performs major works, joining local college and church choirs for community concerts and events.
- Montreat Music Camp. Each summer a large
group of children, youth, and adult choir members (approximately 30)
enjoy attending the Music and Worship Conference at Montreat, North
Carolina. This is a wonderful time of fellowship, learning, music,
and recreation.
